How the draw works

With four players, each person has a 1 in 4 chance. With twelve, it’s 1 in 12.

Around the table

Seat 1 is the person holding the phone; count clockwise. Tap any player name to change it, or paste a list. Blank names keep their seat number. Adding or removing seats keeps the remaining names in place.

Choose Quick or Instant for a fast answer, or try Spinner, Card Draw, Balloon Rise or Towers. You can also try Shortest Match, Dice Roll, Coin Flip, or Shell Game. Every method uses the same equal-chance draw.

The decision comes first

When you pick, we freeze the current player list and ask your browser’s secure random-number generator for a value. Rejection sampling discards the small leftover range that would otherwise favor some positions. Every listed entry gets the same number of possible values.

The result is locked before an animation begins. Balloon height, names, colors, sound, screen size, and the reveal animation cannot change it.

Repeats are normal

Each pick is independent. The same person can win twice—or more—in a row. We don’t quietly remove the last winner or balance results over time. Duplicate names are separate entries with identifying numbers.

If something interrupts

Switching tabs reveals the already-selected winner. If sound or a decorative effect fails, the text result still appears. If secure randomness fails, we show an error and select nobody; we don’t substitute a weaker generator.

House rules work differently

Fun questions do not give everyone equal chances of qualifying. Agree as a group, skip the question, or use the fair picker as an explicit tie-break.
