For the first season, the player who most recently visited an archaeological site goes first.

Rule details

In later seasons, the player who drew the third monkey card in the previous season goes first. Turns proceed clockwise.

If there’s a tie

The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
