The player who has watered flowers most recently starts.
Rule details
In the optional three-game series, the player with fewer total points from the previous game or games starts the second and third games.
The three-player variant keeps the standard starting rule and proceeds clockwise.
If there’s a tie
The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
