Who goes first in Corrosion?

Choose a starting player. The rulebook suggests the first person to notice a rusty object as one possible way to decide.
Rule details
Give the chosen starter the wrench. Turns proceed clockwise; the wrench marks the active player.
In solo mode, the human player takes the first turn, then alternates with the automated opponent.
Our interpretation
Spotting a rusty object is an example in the official rules, not a mandatory requirement.
If there’s a tie
The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
