Who goes first in Joan of Arc: Orléans Draw & Write?

Choose the multiplayer starting player randomly and give them the Follower bag.

Rule details

The bag holder draws the round’s Followers, then chooses the first Follower and takes its action. Choices continue clockwise.

The extra Followers give the starter three actions in a two-player round, or two actions with three to five players. The other players each get two or one, respectively.

After the round’s actions are finished, pass the bag clockwise for the next round. Refill an empty bag as instructed before passing it; the final emptying ends the game instead.

In solo play, the human starts and Joan takes the second turn.

If there’s a tie

The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
