Who goes first in Kingdomino?

During setup, draw kings blindly one at a time and place each on an available domino. Once play begins, the owner of the king on the lowest-numbered domino takes the first turn.

Rule details

The initial king placement and the first regular turn are different steps.

At two players, each person has two kings. Later turn order follows the domino positions, rather than clockwise seating.

Our interpretation

A separate random starting-player draw does not replace the king-and-domino setup in this edition.

If there’s a tie

The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
