Who goes first in Quetzal?

Whoever explored an island most recently receives the first-player marker and places meeples first.

Rule details

Everyone rolls their own meeples before the placement phase. Placement then proceeds clockwise from the first player.

With two players, place the Automaton's meeples before the human players take their placement turns.

If there’s a tie

The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
