Who goes first in Rococo: Deluxe Edition?

In multiplayer, whoever last used a needle and thread takes the first action turn.
Rule details
Give that player the gold thimble Start Player token. Action turns proceed clockwise.
Before the action phase, players choose their Employee cards simultaneously.
In later rounds, the player who acquired the Queen’s Favor takes the Start Player token. If nobody acquired it, the starting player stays the same.
In the Madame du Barry solo mode, Madame du Barry receives the Start Player token.
If there’s a tie
The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
