The player who most recently watched a documentary goes first.
Rule details
That player is the First Scientist: they shuffle and deal, announce the experiment's total number of boxes, and begin as the Active Scientist.
The Active Scientist proposes a hypothesis about how many Alive Cats, Dead Cats or Empty Boxes are in play. The starting criterion does not restrict the documentary to a particular subject.
If there’s a tie
