Who goes first in Tiny Epic Vikings?

Gamelyn English base rules, official Dized reference

The player who most recently set foot on an island takes the first action turn.

Rule details

Give that player the Chieftain Marker. Initial boat placement starts with their right-hand neighbor and runs counterclockwise, ending with the starter.

After card drafting, the Chieftain Marker holder begins the action phase, followed by clockwise turns.

For the next era, the player with the most Island Runes receives the marker. If tied, it goes to the tied player who acted latest in the previous era's order.

Solo play is different: you take the first action turn in every era, before the Enemy Clan.

If there’s a tie

The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
