Whoever made a potion most recently starts.
Rule details
Put that player's marker first on the turn-order track, then place the other players' markers clockwise.
This is the revised New Edition. The original game, The Ultimate Formula, has a separate entry with different setup instructions.
The setup does not define what counts as a potion. This entry covers the multiplayer manual, not the separately offered solo rules.
If there’s a tie
The cited starting-player instruction does not specify a tie-break. We don’t infer one.
